inspiration

I'm applying to intern for Encore this summer, so I've been trying to come up with my resume, writing samples, and well...a cover letter. And I can honestly say that never did I ever think I would construct an "inspiration collage" for the task. But, as you can see, I did.

Good news is I finished the cover letter. But while I'm on the topic of inspiration, here's another one of mine:

Neither store in Wilmington had the clubmasters I was looking for and neither even carried the catty clubmasters. First, I went to the little store in the mall and they had ZERO. So I decided to try the Mayfaire store and they only had one pair. They were effing red, which is not practical for me. So I tried on the wayfarers blah blah blah. And everyone has them. And they look funny on my face. And I would have hated them. I almost gave in because they were like 80 bucks cheaper than these beauties I ended up with. I love these John Lennon-esque sunnies. Here's another look at them. I got them in a light brown lens and gold frame.

Unfortunately for me, I lost my clubmasters (that I impressively held onto for over two years) on the plane to NYC a few days ago. I'm sad. We had a lot of good times together...

we were together during bad hair days. and when my hair was short.

we dined with my mother.

we even made it to Miami for Ultra last March.

And who could forget the 4th of July at Masonboro?

And not to mention, I usually don't even step outside without putting my sunnies on first. So I was in a bit of a pickle when I was in the city. But not to worry, I'm actually on my way out to buy another pair now. I'm probably going to end up buying the same clubmasters, but I'm considering trying on the catty clubmasters as well. We'll see. Oh and I even decided to dress myself appropriately for walking around in public today.

I apologize for being late this week. I was in NYC all weekend and in transit yesterday. So technically this week should be 'mary-kate & ashley tuesdays.' But hey, better late than never. Right?

ruby reds

This is my current beauty staple and obsession. I know, I know... I already made lipstick, but I'm a sucker for makeup. Plus my boyfriend got me an Ulta giftcard for my birthday.

Anyways, the Napoleon Perdis line is awesome. This color is awesome. It stays on all day, which is awesome. Seriously it really does. And the best thing is it doesn't smudge and it doesn't fade. I love it.

My next photography project has to do with portraits--portraits of friends or family, portraits of strangers, and self-portraits. Angela let me borrow her for a little bit last week and this is what I have so far.

Also, can someone please explain to me how to properly take a self-portrait without looking like a complete doofus?
